GUIdancer 3.0 for Immediate Download
Bredex GmbH announced today the immediate availability of GUIdancer 3.0, the automated GUI test tool, from their website . GUIdancer has been expanded in two directions to make automated GUI testing easier and more accessible for a wider range of teams. The introduction of model-based testing lets test case designs be generated from UML models, while the new observation mode allows testers to use a running application to create tests. The Braunschweig-based test experts have also introduced free and unlimited execution licenses with every specification license to reduce the cost of working with the tool.
“In the current climate quality cannot be forgotten, but companies are being more careful about costs” said Achim Brede, a Managing Director at Bredex. “GUIdancer has always provided excellent long-term return of investment through its code-free modular approach. Now the benefits of GUIdancer include the saving in short-term costs associated with license prices. Teams only need to pay for the licenses their testers need to write tests. All automated tests run on our free execution licenses.”
The new version sees the introduction of a new modeling perspective to help teams starting early. Using the same UML diagrams as the development team, they can generate test case designs to ensure the coverage of important use cases and to introduce a good structure from the outset. Although no application is needed to automate tests with GUIdancer, the new observation mode can be used to ease the way into automation for teams who already do have an application. A particular benefit of the GUIdancer observation mode is that no code is produced. The output is GUIdancer test steps which are easy to read, edit and combine into reusable modules.
Alexandra Imrie, head of marketing at the company added “GUIdancer is a test tool like no other. We believe that automated tests are just as important as software development and should be based on the same standards. With our keyword-driven approach, testers have unparalleled control over a good, robust test design without having to see a single line of code.”
